Houston in numbers
Houston has 2,328,253 residents in 930,404 households, in the Census Bureau's 2020-2024 survey estimates. That makes it the largest market we cover with a local page.
Ownership is close to an even split with renting, with 42.1% of occupied homes owner-occupied. Single-family detached homes make up 42.7% of the 1,040,576 housing units.
Bigger runs for a bigger city
In a city this large, even one part of town can mean many thousands of homes. That is where our largest print tier earns its keep, because the cost per piece falls as the run grows.
10,000 4.25″ × 11″ EDDM postcards cost $599, and 10,000 6.5″ × 9″ cards cost $779. For a full menu, 10,000 Platinum folded mailers cost $1,379.
Planning drops around the daily limit
Under EDDM Retail, one mailer can hand in at most 5,000 pieces for a single ZIP code on any given day. A large Houston mailing across several ZIP codes may therefore go to more than one post office or over more than one day.
Plan the drops before you print, so the boxes arrive split the way you will take them in. Our guide to planning a first EDDM mailing covers bundling and drop-off.
Standing out among thousands of businesses
Harris County had 3,574 full-service and 3,958 limited-service restaurants in 2023, plus 2,302 dental offices and 1,712 real estate offices, per County Business Patterns. Those counts include only businesses with paid employees, so the real field is larger.
In a crowded market, consistency wins. Mailing the same routes on a regular schedule keeps your name in front of the same households.
Delivery to Houston
Houston orders print at our Arlington, Texas hub and ship by UPS Ground. The table at the top of this page shows live shipping to ZIP 77002.
Use the builder on any product page for your own ZIP, or call 512-573-1977 and Corey will price a multi-ZIP mailing with you.
If you plan to mail several ZIP codes, tell us how you want the boxes split. Packing them by drop makes the trips to each post office quicker.
Choosing Houston routes
Houston is spread out, so the routes nearest your business matter even more than in a compact city. People rarely drive across town for everyday services.
The USPS EDDM map shows each route's home and business counts. Choose a tight area first, then expand once you see which routes bring in calls.
A first Houston mailing, priced
A modest start is 2,500 6.5″ × 9″ postcards for $359. When you are ready to cover a larger part of the city, 10,000 4.25″ × 11″ cards cost $599.
Postage is paid to USPS at drop-off, separate from printing. The EDDM cost calculator adds it all up for any household count.
Menus for a city of food lovers
With thousands of restaurants in Harris County, a menu has to look good and be easy to keep. A folded Platinum mailer holds a full menu on four letter-size panels.
10,000 of them cost $1,379, enough for several neighborhoods around a busy kitchen.
Industry guides for Houston businesses
Restaurants, dental practices, real estate agents and home services are among the busiest mailers in Harris County. Each has its own guide on our printing by industry pages, with recommended pieces and prices.
In a market this size, a steady schedule to the same routes does more than a single large blast.
